The town of New Freedom marks the highest point along the NCR and YCH trails.  From here, it's all down hill on the way toward York, Pa.  The YCH also shares its right-of-way with a working excursion railway, so don't be surprised if a locomotive is bearing down on you!

The present northern terminus is Hanover Junction.  Abraham Lincoln disembarked from the NCR at this point, on his way to deliver the Gettysburg Address.
