Patapsco Valley Trail Race - Avalon/Glen Artney Area

Distance 6 Miles

 

The Patapsco Valley race is part of the BRRC Billy Goat Trail Series.

This being our first visit to Patapsco State Park there is some specific rules that will apply to this club event.

 

1.       A $2.00 park use fee will be charged to everyone entering the park.

2.       The race fees by $2.00 for this race only will be $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members
of which $2 goes towards the park.

3.       Please leave your dog at home there are no pets allowed in the park.

4.       This is a trash fee park so please take your trash out with you.

5.       Parking is limited, carpool if possible and do not park illegally in the park.

 

Sign-up will start at 7:45 at Glen Artney Shelter # 1

The race will be approximately 6 miles and will start and finish near shelter #1.

 

The club has Shelter #1 for the entire day so if you'd like bring some brunch or lunch type food to share with other race participants, friends, and/or family and enjoy the park setting while stuffing your face.

 

Directions from I-695/Beltway:

 

·         Take 95 south towards DC

·         Take exit 47 -195 towards BWI airport

·         Take 195 to exit 3 Rt. 1/Washington Blvd

·         Turn right on Rt. 1/Washington Blvd.

·         Turn right at the first street and follow signs into park. If you cross the bridge over the Patapsco River you went to far.

·        Follow Park entrance road to Ranger Station (stop pay fee) and continue to road end.

·        Turn right at road end, take first left and look for parking, shelter one is on the left side.
